'Waste issues aired in public' - Brooks

2.02.14pm UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 21st Jul 2008

Councillor Jeff Brooks

Liberal Democrat Group Leader Jeff Brooks is urging people who have, or continue to experience problems with their waste collections to come along to tomorrow's meeting of the Council's watchdog, the Overview and Scrutiny Commission. Starting at 6.30pm in the Market Street Council Chamber, the public meeting will give residents a chance to hear from the Executive Member for Waste, the General Manager of Veolia and council officers about the roll out of the new collections.

Councillor Brooks commented:

"This is a real chance for the people at the receiving end of the waste service to hear from those at the top what went wrong and why. I would urge anyone who has had problems, or still is having problems getting their rubbish and recycling collected to come along to tomorrow's meeting. This is a chance to hear from those at the very top who have ultimate responsibility for the service you receive on the ground."
